Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and [2532] Pharisees came together unto Pilate,

Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and [2532] say unto the people, He is risen from the dead : so [2532] the last error shall be worse than the first.

And [2532] they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and [2532] great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

And as they went to tell his disciples, [2532] behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and [2532] worshipped him.

And [2532] when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,

And [2532] if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and [2532] secure you.

So they took the money, and did as they were taught : and [2532] this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

And [2532] when they saw him, they worshipped him : but some doubted.

And [2532] Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and [2532] in earth.

And [2532] straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

And [2532] when he had gone a little further thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and [2532] John his brother, who also [2532] were in the ship mending their nets.

And [2532] straightway he called them : and [2532] they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

And [2532] they went into Capernaum; and [2532] straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

And [2532] they were astonished at his doctrine : for he taught them as one that had authority, and [2532] not as the scribes.

And [2532] there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and [2532] he cried out,

|
Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do [2532] with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
|

And [2532] Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and [2532] come out of him.

And [2532] when the unclean spirit had torn him, and [2532] cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

And [2532] they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even [2532] the unclean spirits, and [2532] they do obey him.

And [2532] forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and [2532] Andrew, with James and [2532] John.

But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and [2532] anon they tell him of her.

And [2532] he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and [2532] immediately the fever left her, and [2532] she ministered unto them.

And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and [2532] them that were possessed with devils.

And [2532] all the city was gathered together at the door.

And [2532] he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and [2532] cast out many devils; and [2532] suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.

And [2532] in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and [2532] departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

And [2532] when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.

And [2532] he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also : for therefore came I forth.

And [2532] he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and [2532] cast out devils.

And [2532] there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and [2532] kneeling down to him, and [2532] saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and [2532] saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
|

And [2532] as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and [2532] he was cleansed.

And [2532] he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;

And [2532] saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man : but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and [2532] offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

But he went out, and began to publish it much, and [2532] to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places : and [2532] they came to him from every quarter.

And [2532] they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

And [2532] when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was : and [2532] when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and [2532] reasoning in their hearts,

And [2532] immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and [2532] take up thy bed, and [2532] walk?

I say unto thee, Arise, and [2532] take up thy bed, and [2532] go thy way into thine house.
|

And [2532] immediately he arose, took up the bed, and [2532] went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and [2532] glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

And [2532] he went forth again by the sea side; and [2532] all the multitude resorted unto him, and [2532] he taught them.

And [2532] as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and [2532] said unto him, Follow me. And [2532] he arose and followed him.

And [2532] it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and [2532] sinners sat also [2532] together with Jesus and [2532] his disciples : for there were many, and [2532] they followed him.

And [2532] when the scribes and [2532] Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and [2532] sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and [2532] drinketh with publicans and [2532] sinners?

When [2532] Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick : I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

And [2532] the disciples of John and [2532] of the Pharisees used to fast : and [2532] they come and [2532] say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and [2532] of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?

And [2532] Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.

But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and [2532] then shall they fast in those days.
|

No man also [2532] seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment : else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and [2532] the rent is made worse.
|
| Mr 2:22 |

And [2532] no man putteth new wine into old bottles : else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and [2532] the wine is spilled, and [2532] the bottles will be marred : but new wine must be put into new bottles.

And [2532] it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and [2532] his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn.

How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and [2532] did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and [2532] gave also [2532] to them which were with him?

And [2532] he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath :

Therefore the Son of man is Lord also [2532] of the sabbath.

And [2532] the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

And [2532] from Jerusalem, and [2532] from Idumaea, and [2532] from beyond Jordan; and [2532] they about Tyre and [2532] Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.

And [2532] he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.
