When [1161] Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

Now [1161] when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow : and much people of the city was with her.

And he came and touched the bier : and [1161] they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

Now [1161] when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him : for she is a sinner.

And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And [1161] he saith, Master, say on.

There was a certain creditor which had two debtors : the one owed five hundred pence, and [1161] the other fifty.

And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet : but [1161] she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

Thou gavest me no kiss : but [1161] this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.

Now [1161] the parable is this : The seed is the word of God.

Those [1161] by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

[1161] They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

And [1161] that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

But [1161] that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

[1161] No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.

Then [1161] came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.

And [1161] he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

But [1161] as they sailed he fell asleep : and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

And [1161] they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then [1161] he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water : and they ceased, and there was a calm.

And [1161] he said unto them, Where is your faith? And [1161] they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

And [1161] when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

When [1161] he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

And [1161] Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And [1161] he said, Legion : because many devils were entered into him.

And [1161] there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain : and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.

Then [1161] went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine : and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

When [1161] they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.

Then [1161] they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind : and they were afraid.

[1161] They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.

Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear : and [1161] he went up into the ship, and returned back again.

Now [1161] the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him : but [1161] Jesus sent him away, saying,

And [1161] it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him : for they were all waiting for him.

For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But [1161] as he went the people thronged him.

And Jesus said, Who touched me? When [1161] all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

And [1161] Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me : for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

And [1161] when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

And [1161] he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort : thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

But [1161] when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not : believe only, and she shall be made whole.

And [1161] the people, when they knew it, followed him : and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.

And [1161] when the day began to wear away, then [1161] came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals : for we are here in a desert place.

But [1161] he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And [1161] they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.

For they were about five thousand men. And [1161] he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.

Then [1161] he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.

They [1161] answering said, John the Baptist; but [1161] some say, Elias; and [1161] others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.

[1161] He said unto them, But [1161] whom say ye that I am? [1161] Peter answering said, The Christ of God.

And [1161] he straitly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing;

And [1161] he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it : but [1161] whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

But [1161] I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.

While [1161] he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them : and [1161] they feared as they entered into the cloud.

And [1161] it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.

And [1161] Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither.

And [1161] as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And [1161] Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.

And [1161] they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But [1161] while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,

Then [1161] there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.

And [1161] Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,

And [1161] John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.

And [1161] it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,

And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but [1161] the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

And [1161] he said unto another, Follow me. But [1161] he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
