But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and [2532] destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and [2532] blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;

Having eyes full of adultery, and [2532] that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls : an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children :

While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption : for of whom a man is overcome, [2532] of the same is he brought in bondage.

For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and [2532] Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and [2532] the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

And [2532] saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and [2532] the earth standing out of the water and [2532] in the water :

But the heavens and [2532] the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and [2532] perdition of ungodly men.

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and [2532] a thousand years as one day.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also [2532] and [2532] the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and [2532] godliness,

Looking for and [2532] hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and [2532] the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and [2532] a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and [2532] blameless.

And [2532] account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also [2532] according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

As also [2532] in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and [2532] unstable wrest, as they do also [2532] the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

But grow in grace, and [2532] in the knowledge of our Lord and [2532] Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both [2532] now and [2532] for ever. Amen.

And [2532] these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

This then [2532] is the message which we have heard of him, and [2532] declare unto you, that God is light, and [2532] in him is no darkness at all.

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and [2532] walk in darkness, we lie, and [2532] do not the truth :

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and [2532] the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and [2532] the truth is not in us.
|

|
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and [2532] just to forgive us our sins, and [2532] to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and [2532] his word is not in us.

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And [2532] if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous :

And [2532] he is the propitiation for our sins : and not for ours only, but also [2532] for the sins of the whole world.

He that saith, I know him, and [2532] keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and [2532] the truth is not in him.

I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and [2532] the word of God abideth in you, and [2532] ye have overcome the wicked one.

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and [2532] the Son.

Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father : (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also [2532].

Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also [2532] shall continue in the Son, and [2532] in the Father.

And [2532] this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
