And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said [2036] unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.

And another said [2036], I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said [2036] to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.

And the servant said [2036], Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.

And the lord said [2036] unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

And he said [2036] unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts : for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

And he cried and said [2036], Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

But Abraham said [2036], Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things : but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
