shame shall cover her--in seeing how utterly mistaken she was in supposing that I was utterly ruined.

Where is . . . thy God-- (Psa 42:3, Psa 42:10). If He be "thy God," as thou sayest, let Him come now and deliver thee. So as to Israel's representative, Messiah (Mat 27:43).

mine eyes shall behold her--a just retribution in kind upon the foe who had said, "Let our eye look upon Zion." Zion shall behold her foe prostrate, not with the carnal joy of revenge, but with spiritual joy in God's vindicating His own righteousness (Isa 66:24; Rev 16:5-7).

shall she be trodden down--herself, who had trodden down me.

5 And [2532] I heard [191] the angel [32] of the waters [5204] say [3004], Thou art [1488] righteous [1342], O Lord [2962], which [3588] art [5607] [3801], and [2532] wast [2258] [3801], and [2532] shalt be [3741] [3801], because [3754] thou hast judged [2919] thus [5023].
6 For [3754] they have shed [1632] the blood [129] of saints [40] and [2532] prophets [4396], and [2532] thou hast given [1325] them [846] blood [129] to drink [4095]; for [1063] they are [1526] worthy [514].
7 And [2532] I heard [191] another [243] out of [1537] the altar [2379] say [3004], Even so [3483], Lord [2962] God [2316] Almighty [3841], true [228] and [2532] righteous [1342] are thy [4675] judgments [2920].
24 And they shall go forth [03318], and look [07200] upon the carcases [06297] of the men [0582] that have transgressed [06586] against me: for their worm [08438] shall not die [04191], neither shall their fire [0784] be quenched [03518]; and they shall be an abhorring [01860] unto all flesh [01320].
43 He trusted [3982] in [1909] God [2316]; let him deliver [4506] him [846] now [3568], if [1487] he will have [2309] him [846]: for [1063] he said [2036], [3754] I am [1510] the Son [5207] of God [2316].
10 As with a sword [07524] in my bones [06106], mine enemies [06887] reproach [02778] me; while they say [0559] daily [03117] unto me, Where is thy God [0430]?
3 My tears [01832] have been my meat [03899] day [03119] and night [03915], while they continually [03117] say [0559] unto me, Where is thy God [0430]?
30 But [1161] of [1537] him [846] are [2075] ye [5210] in [1722] Christ [5547] Jesus [2424], who [3739] of [575] God [2316] is made [1096] unto us [2254] [5037] wisdom [4678], and righteousness [1343], and [2532] sanctification [38], and [2532] redemption [629]:
137 TZADDI. Righteous [06662] art thou, O LORD [03068], and upright [03477] are thy judgments [04941].
11 Now [1161] no [3956] [3756] chastening [3809] for [4314] [3303] the present [3918] seemeth [1380] to be [1511] joyous [5479], but [235] grievous [3077]: nevertheless [1161] afterward [5305] it yieldeth [591] the peaceable [1516] fruit [2590] of righteousness [1343] unto them which are exercised [1128] thereby [1223] [846].
28 And [2532] even as [2531] they did [1381] not [3756] like [1381] to retain [2192] God [2316] in [1722] their knowledge [1922], God [2316] gave [3860] them [846] over [3860] to [1519] a reprobate [96] mind [3563], to do [4160] those things which are [2520] not [3361] convenient [2520];
105 NUN. Thy word [01697] is a lamp [05216] unto my feet [07272], and a light [0216] unto my path [05410].
1 A Psalm of David [01732]. The LORD [03068] is my light [0216] and my salvation [03468]; whom shall I fear [03372]? the LORD [03068] is the strength [04581] of my life [02416]; of whom shall I be afraid [06342]?
5 And [2532] the light [5457] shineth [5316] in [1722] darkness [4653]; and [2532] the darkness [4653] comprehended [2638] it [846] not [3756].
2 The people [05971] that walked [01980] in darkness [02822] have seen [07200] a great [01419] light [0216]: they that dwell [03427] in the land [0776] of the shadow of death [06757], upon them hath the light [0216] shined [05050].
16 Give [05414] glory [03519] to the LORD [03068] your God [0430], before he cause darkness [02821], and before your feet [07272] stumble [05062] upon the dark [05399] mountains [02022], and, while ye look [06960] for light [0216], he turn [07760] it into the shadow of death [06757], and make [07896] [07896] it gross darkness [06205].
10 Such as sit [03427] in darkness [02822] and in the shadow of death [06757], being bound [0615] in affliction [06040] and iron [01270];
12 For [3754] we [2254] wrestle [3823] not [3756] against [2076] [4314] flesh [4561] and [2532] blood [129], but [235] against [4314] principalities [746], against [4314] powers [1849], against [4314] the rulers [2888] of the darkness [4655] of this [5127] world [165], against [4314] spiritual [4152] wickedness [4189] in [1722] high [2032] places.
11 Say [0559] unto them, As I live [02416], saith [05002] the Lord [0136] GOD [03069], I have no pleasure [02654] in the death [04194] of the wicked [07563]; but that the wicked [07563] turn [07725] from his way [01870] and live [02421]: turn [07725] ye, turn [07725] ye from your evil [07451] ways [01870]; for why will ye die [04191], O house [01004] of Israel [03478]?
4 Moreover thou shalt say [0559] unto them, Thus saith [0559] the LORD [03068]; Shall they fall [05307], and not arise [06965]? shall he turn away [07725], and not return [07725]?
8 The LORD [03068] openeth [06491] the eyes of the blind [05787]: the LORD [03068] raiseth [02210] them that are bowed down [03721]: the LORD [03068] loveth [0157] the righteous [06662]:
4 When the Lord [0136] shall have washed away [07364] the filth [06675] of the daughters [01323] of Zion [06726], and shall have purged [01740] the blood [01818] of Jerusalem [03389] from the midst [07130] thereof by the spirit [07307] of judgment [04941], and by the spirit [07307] of burning [01197].
13 And David [01732] said [0559] unto Nathan [05416], I have sinned [02398] against the LORD [03068]. And Nathan [05416] said [0559] unto David [01732], The LORD [03068] also hath put away [05674] thy sin [02403]; thou shalt not die [04191].
10 Now therefore the sword [02719] shall never [05704] [05769] depart [05493] from thine house [01004]; because [06118] thou hast despised [0959] me, and hast taken [03947] the wife [0802] of Uriah [0223] the Hittite [02850] to be thy wife [0802].
