Jer 46:5 Strong Concordance Wherefore have I seen [07200] them dismayed [02844] and turned [05472] away back [0268]? and their mighty ones [01368] are beaten down [03807], and are fled [05127] apace [04498], and look not back [06437]: for fear [04032] was round about [05439], saith [05002] the LORD [03068].
  King James Wherefore have I seen them dismayed and turned away back? and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: for fear was round about, saith the LORD.

(See on Jer 46:3). The language of astonishment, that an army so well equipped should be driven back in "dismay." The prophet sees this in prophetic vision.

fled apace--literally, "fled a flight," that is, flee precipitately.

look not back--They do not even dare to look back at their pursuers.
